VDM-Series Vertical Double-Tool-Magazine Frame Machine (VDM-850 / VDM-1060)
VDM-series vertical frame machines pair a closed rigid casting with two independent tool magazines for 48 resident tools, letting high-mix jobs keep a large tool inventory onboard and cut changeover time between part families.

What the Dual-Tool-Magazine Frame Design Delivers
The vertical double-tool-magazine frame machine is a vertical machining center built around a rigid frame structure and two independent tool magazines. The second magazine lets a job keep a large set of tools resident without swapping the whole magazine, cutting changeover time on mixed, high-mix production.
- Rigid frame casting for heavier cuts and better accuracy retention
- Two tool magazines to hold large tool sets or two families of tools
- Suitable for job shops, mold bases and general engineering parts

Frame Construction and Stability
The column, base and saddle form a closed frame that resists deflection under heavy milling and boring. Linear guideways and preloaded ballscrews on all three axes give quick positioning while the structure keeps chatter low on deep pockets.

Dual Tool Magazines and Spindle
With two magazines working together, a single program can address a much larger tool inventory: one magazine can hold the everyday cutters while the second carries long tools, large-face tools or dedicated finishing cutters. The spindle handles both steel and aluminum milling over a broad speed range.

Choosing Between VDM-850 and VDM-1060
Pick VDM-850 when parts fit within a roughly 800 mm envelope and the priority is fast, nimble milling; move to VDM-1060 when larger molds or heavier plates need the bigger table and a BT50 spindle option. Both share the same dual-magazine philosophy, so tool management practice transfers directly.
Acceptance Points
Confirm both magazines index and change tools reliably, check spindle run-out and taper contact, and run a heavy-pocket test cut to confirm the frame keeps chatter within limits. Verify positioning accuracy before acceptance.
